GENERAL QUESTIONS
Q: Can you teach me how to make a comic?
A: Not at all. The techniques an artist uses to make his or her comic isn't anything that can be magically transfered to another person. The way I make my comics and the way Stan Lee makes comics are two completely different methods; it's not something that can really be taught. I can give you links to the resources that helped me start making comics, but as I've learned over the past 10+ years of working on Wolf Song, it's easier if you find your own path instead of following the path of another artist.
Q: When will the next comic page be posted?
A: Wolf Song will be updated when I have the time to work on it. Wolf Song is not an official web-comic, so I don't do weekly, bi-weekly or even monthly updates. I like to practice between each page, and I put a lot of effort into every page I make. So the answer is I don't know exactally when, but just know the comic will be updated.
Q: Comic, Manga or Graphic Novel?
A: By definition, Wolf Song is a graphic novel. I out of forced habit, I will refer to Wolf Song as a comic, but technically speaking it's not.
COMIC QUESTIONS
Q: Cainus Vindex vs. Vine Hound?
A: Cainus Vindex is my personal variation of the Latin word canis and vindex is Latin for defender, champion or protector. Literally translated as Canine Protectors, it functions like any other universal animal label (like vulpus vulpus or canis lupus). The subspecies are: cainus vindex lux (Articus), cainus vindex nox (Coal), and cainus vindex vitus (Jade). Vine Hound is the common name for the subspecies cainus vindex vitus. The species as a whole are known as Vindex.
Q: Why do your animal characters wear jewelry/have magic powers/etc.?
A: Vine Hounds have a humanoid form where they are able to put on clothing and accessories. During a transformation, certain items don't transform (example: Coal's collar). It's just one of those things you have to accept and read the comic or reject and not read the comic. Also, Wolf Song is a fictional story based on an entirely different planet. The rules of our world don't apply to the rules of Hetra.
Q: Why do the vindex have a human form?
A: This will be throughly explained in the comic.
Q: What is that creature on page 38?
A: Been getting a lot of questions about that character. All I can reveal right now is that he is based off the dinosaur species allosaurus. Telling all the details about the character ruins the surprise of who and what he is. Just wait for more comic pages and I promise more information will be given about him.
Q: Can you add my character in Wolf Song?
A: No. The Wolf Song storyline is intricately designed and cannot have characters randomly placed in the comic. In addition, there are many legal issues that would have to be covered for me to use your character, as Wolf Song will be a published in later years. It's just way to messy of a task to handle, even for cameo appearances.
